Dr. Elizabeth Guarin has been a practicing physical therapist for over 17 years. She was born and raised in upstate New York in the beautiful Hudson Valley. Dr. Guarin earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from Loyola College in Maryland. She went on to earn her Master's Degree in Physical Therapy from CUNY Hunter College in New York City in 2006 and her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Scranton in 2013. Dr. Guarin practiced for 6 years in New York City at RUSK Rehabilitation at the NYU Langone Medical Center. At RUSK, she specialized in the areas of Vestibular physical therapy, inpatient rehabilitation and outpatient rehabilitation working with both the neurological and orthopedic patient populations.
Dr. Guarin moved to Miami in 2012, where she continues to expand her practice of physical therapy in both the hospital and outpatient settings. She has experienced first-hand the void that exists in physical therapy services specialized in pelvic health and rehabilitation, inspiring her to increase access to quality physical therapy. She has received specialized training to treat pelvic floor dysfunctions, is board certified in neurological physical therapy from the American Physical Therapy Association and is certified in vestibular physical therapy. Dr. Guarin wants to help her patients return to the activities that fulfill them and keep them strong.
In her free time, Dr. Guarin enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons, cooking or baking and listening to music. She maintains an active lifestyle, participating in boot camps, riding her Peloton bike or running after her two young boys.
